Accelerate Keynote Speaker Amanda Bickerstaff

Dear Commons Community,

Yesterday was a fine day for me at the OLC Accelerate Conference.

I spent the morning at a meeting with my colleagues on the OLC Board of Directors.  Among other things on our agenda, was a most positive financial report.  OLC is on a sound footing and we look forward to a bright future with our activities including this conference which we are committed/contracted to continue through 2031. 

In the afternoon, I was on panel with colleagues Patsy Moskal, Paige McDonald and Kelvin Thompson.  My close friend, Chuck Dziuban, was ill and could not join us.  We surely missed him.  Regardless, our panel was well received to an audience of about 40-50 attendees. Our topic on generative AI is of great interest to many of the people in attendance at Accelerate..

In the late afternoon,  I attended the keynote presentation given by a former student of mine, Amanda Bikerstaff, founder and CEO of AI for Education. Her topic was generative AI and she connected well with the audience of 1,000 plus attendees. Her message and delivery about the future of education in the world of AI was right on.   I was most proud of her. 

In the evening, I had dinner with my OLC board colleagues and senior operations staff.  Great conversation and catching up with each other’s activities.

Who can ask for anything more at a conference!
