Dear Commons Community,

On this day, we honor our dads who do so much for us.  My dad, Amadeo,  died fifty years ago in 1973, and there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about him. He worked in a warehouse just off the docks on West 55^th Street in Manhattan for much of his adult life.  He could have been in a scene in the Marlon Brando movie, On the Waterfront. He never graduated high school but was very smart in many important ways including instilling in my brothers and me the importance of education.

I will always love him!
