Dear Commons Community,
The Chronicle of Higher Education has compiled case studies of eleven college presidents whose tenures foundered. At 32 pages, it is a quick read that demonstrates how failure to respond adequately to complaints of racism or sexual assault on a campus, conflicts with the Board of Trustees, incautious remarks about getting rid of underperforming students, poor management, and, in one outlying example, the theft of college funds, can bring a president down. Below is an outline of the presidents and institutions described in the case studies.
